The code needs a ES2015+ polyfill to work, for example regenerator-runtime/runtime.

await import( 'regenerator-runtime/runtime.js' ) ;
// or

Then

const mapping = await import( '@iterable-iterator/mapping' ) ;
// or
import * as mapping from '@iterable-iterator/mapping' ;
